It’s been a good few months now since I packed up home in London and returned to Sydney and I’m surprised to realise just how quickly I’d started to take the everyday things here for granted within such a relatively short period of time.
Over the past two weeks I’ve had a chance to play tourist in my hometown while a friend of mine has been visiting from the UK. It’s been a lot of fun and a wonderful reminder of how truly blessed us Sydney-siders are when it comes to the wealth of things to be enjoyed here in our very own backyard.
With so many photos to choose from, here are just a few of the highlights.
Spectacular views and glimpses of our colourful wildlife along the coastal walk between Coogee and Bondi Beach.
A chance to walk in some of our beautiful bushland and take in a few of the sights within an hour or so from our CBD, including the Royal National Park.
Housboating on the Hawkesbury River.
And soaking up the awesome vistas in the Blue Mountains.
A trip to Taronga Zoo was a must.
As was hitting the town for some great food and drinks.
And of course, time spent on and around our beautiful Harbour.
If you haven’t been out recently in your own home town, I’d highly recommend getting out there and playing tourist for a day. It’s a great way to remind ourselves of the treasures under our very own noses. If you do, be sure to drop me a line and tell me what you find!
